Il Barcaiolo in Rottach-Egern

Even in times of Corona, Il Barcaiolo is always a top address. Whether it's the Carpaccio di Gambero rosso 🦐 or the Vitello Tonnato, simply great. You don't have to say, eat and enjoy much about pasta, fish or meat. And here, too, if you stick to simple rules, you have a nice evening and don't have to do without anything.

Incredible! Both the hotel and the staff as well as the entire gastronomy (we tried ALL restaurants). With its 3 Michelin stars and 19.5 Gault Millau points, the “Überfahrt” is of course beyond any doubt. A tiny drop of potential would have been a short tour of the table by the present Mr. Jürgens. We are one of those people who would like to thank the boss for such a pleasure experience as we were offered.

Service overslept.

there is pure joy in this place. great staff, excellent food. having the tuesday shrimp blast, better make your bookings weeks in advance. our waitress was the secret ingredient… great sense of humor, still extremly fast and professional.

I can only recommend this restaurant from the Hotel Überfahrt. Outside with a view of the lake and very good food ... you don't need more. For me there was the best dessert ever: pistachio panna cotta. What can be a bit annoying are the cars in the turning loop to the hotel entrance.

A big movie theater. Outstanding food, lovely service and a beautiful setting on the lake.

We were there quite often. Unfortunately something has always been forgotten or not even come to the table. With the prices (which are certainly justified by the quality of the food) I expect impeccable service. Some guests are also preferred. Nevertheless, beautiful location and staff is friendly and hard-working.

Hello Mr. Jürgens! Today we made your salmon recipe from the last newsletter of the Althoff Group. A highlight. Refined a Norwegian salmon weighing 1.3 kg. Very, very tasty and really not too difficult for an ambitious amateur chef like me to cook. We are already looking forward to "coming home" during the crossing. Great restaurant with a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains. The food was delicious and the portions were almost too big.

A little disappointing. Started with great expectations, service to the point, but wooden and formal - later found out that, starting from Mr. Jürgens, there is probably a climate of fear. Food of high quality but in 2 dishes in my opinion weaknesses, in the fish course so strong vinegar notes that nothing remains of the normal taste. Price partly completely covered, individual dishes are priced at 125 euros, the excellent wine accompaniment alone cost almost 140 euros in the 5-course menu. The glass of aperitif champagne costs over 50 euros. So unfortunately there is no risk of repetition.

The expectations are of course extremely high when you visit an institution like Restaurant Überfahrt. Basically, these were met with regard to the quality of the food, the service and the ambience. Compared to other 3 star restaurants such as the Atelier or Geranium, however, everything seemed very routine and less likely to surprise the guest again and to want to show something new - the icing on the cake was somehow missing. Therefore for me it is more on the level of Tantris. Even if I can no longer use it, I think the discount offer for U31 year olds is very cool!

Top cuisine, but why should you eat Italian in Bavaria, South Tyrol is on your doorstep, and they can do better anyway

Delicious food and excellent service!

We would like to thank the entire team once again for the great special evening. Everything was perfect and tasted great! The service was excellent! We are looking forward to the next time.

Almost too perfect. However, the boss was a bit uptight and if you get the door open even when you go to the toilet, some may think this is intrusive. The menu was the best of my life.

The highest demands on such a place are inevitable. Unfortunately, the specific evening was very ambivalent. The restaurant conveys a very pleasant (living room) atmosphere - warm tones, atmospheric decoration and lighting. The staff: too tense and formally tried. There is a lack of sympathetic serenity and sovereignty. As a result, there is no real contact that could nicely support the social experience of the evening. The scallop was great, the sauce was a threat to the taste of the same - too floury, too dominant. The deer was perfect. The dessert is a first-rate culinary seduction. Overall, I would have liked more surprising moments for my palate to better justify the unsurprising bill of almost 800.- for two p.

Seven fantastic courses with unbelievable creativity in a very stylish ambience and extremely perfectly matched, accompanying wines. More is hardly possible.

If you go out to eat in a three-star restaurant and express criticism, it borders on hubris. So you should know: Everything I write here is already at the highest level. Service: very well organized. Very professional. Lots of staff. A little cool to deal with. Location: well furnished. Distance between the tables large. Everyone has their peace. Food: I had a 7-course vegetarian menu. Some courses were simply the non-vegetarian and then meat or fish was left out. Sometimes the main actor was missing from them. Others were customized veggie. The corridor “Die Kiste” deserves special mention. I've never eaten anything better. Compared to the Traube Tonbach, the menu couldn't quite keep up overall, but the price was higher. Drink: Wine accompaniment benchmark !!!

Here it is confused in Google maps - firstly, this is a restaurant, not a hotel, and below all the signs of a hotel. Secondly, there is already a restaurant on the map, so this entry must be canceled. I will create and add a picture to clarify this misunderstanding. And in any case, this restaurant is one of the best in all of Germany and even in Europe. After this post, I will edit the map.

I really thought the place would be wonderful just like the people who rated it said, but turns out it’s the complete opposite. The view was great and the place was spacious, the staff were friendly but they were so slow when writing down the order and when serving it. It took them more than half an hour for a 3 scoops of ice cream. The food was definitely pricey. The menu had a lot of drink options (mostly alcohol) and not much for the appetizers and main dishes. I don’t recommend this place for anyone, especially people who are picky with what they eat (like myself), this place is filled with other options they could enjoy with an affordable price.

Whenever I attended cooking classes at Christian Jürgens' cooking school during the day, a dinner in his Überfahrt restaurant was a must in the evening. The restaurant impresses with its excellent cuisine with highly creative and exquisite dishes, made by a masterful team from preferably regional products. The variety of flavors and textures is unsurpassed, extremely well thought out and extremely tasty. In addition, a fascinating wealth of ideas in the presentation of the individual courses, seldom have I been served dishes prepared with such creativity and sophistication. The wine recommendation and accompaniment is in no way inferior to this, excellently selected wines from an impressive wine stock are paired with the menu and are professionally presented and patiently explained by the sommelier Marietta Stegbuchner. The service is extremely well trained and extremely friendly and courteous. So it is hardly surprising that restaurant manager Peter Nasser calls you about an hour before you go to a restaurant and is asked whether the menu is okay and whether you can start preparing it? Hats off, the Überfahrt restaurant is one of the best 3-star restaurants in Germany, if not in Europe, for me.

Absolutely wonderful. Food makes you glad to be alive. Cannot recommend highly enough p.s. a lot of the photos on google seem to be of the breakfast buffet or cake at the hotel, this is not this restaurant. Only the amazing looking stuff is this restaurant.

Presentation was outstanding. We had the tasting menu. Food was delicious. Interesting flavor combinations. Make sure to get the potato cube. Service was great. All around wonderful dining experience.

Memorable and above excellent service. The only downside is eating any food at home afterward will seem bland!
